However I still have to take issue with your point against the Civic LX. With a 13.2 gallon tank, running a long trip like that, getting 40MPG highway, you'll be WELL OVER 400 miles on a tank.
There is no grantee you will get 40mpg in the Civic LX, it's more like 35, 36...........if you don't get 43 to 46 on the Civic Hybrid, your not doing it right. My last tank I filled 10.5 gallons and went just under 500 miles. I am about to fill up again, I will post the gallon use then.........Can you do that in an LX?...........NO! [...]
Why don't you create an account in spritmonitor and start posting publicly all your fill-ups ?
Might be a nice way of getting your point to other people, and you may even add your tiny mileage icon to your business homepage or something. Current average FE for your car is about 41mpg @spritmonitor, although most users are for sure from Europe, where we always get considerably worse mileage than in the US. Do you think you can do it better than that average ?!
PS: You can also track your ownership costs and let others know if you feel like it.
PS2: Once you open your (free) account and set up your car in US mpg, all the website will show in US mpg as well.
PS3: Here is for example our 1.3L CVT Fit/Jazz's icon :
(this is not a "one time FE", it's our "lifetime FE taking in account every single litre and every single km, the good and bad ones"; of course, you have to believe I didn't made up the numbers myself).
