Better than the Sonata, but that's not saying much. The rear quarter view reveals way too many disjointed cut lines and panel gaps and the whole car is just too bulbous. In the right light it has a clean, Audi-esque look but the details quickly betray this illusion.

I agree about the cutlines, but I can't stop staring at it - maybe because it's new - plus that c-pillar, I know it's on the thick side, but there is something I really like about it - distinctive...plus the front and rear is nice and clean and for the most part distinctive too - although not sure why they have the cutline above the grille/below the hood, seems like they should have extended the hood to meet the grille or move the cutline further up on the hood. Still I like it and it's much better than the last generation
I think I just threw up in my mouth. That thing is HIDEOUS. Looks like an alien from the front. I must say its almost as bad as the front end of the 2008 Accord. Tailights look out of place. The only nice view is the side profile which is an exact copy of a Lexus LS. Can Hyundai please be more original? The Sonata on the other hand seems more cohesive and less repulsive.
I can't believe all the negative feedback on the latest Honda and Acura designs yet this car gets comments such as looks good, stylish, and cohesive.
IMO from these photos the car looks a mess with cuts and lines going in all different directions, especially at the c-pillar. Looks like the the best view may be from directly behind. Maybe my opinion will differ when I see it in the flesh but for now in terms of styling I would put it behind nearly every sedan in it's price segment... including the now 4 year old Camry.

i think the c pillar cut lines were a problem on the ZDX when the designers were going through concepts and they were trying to fin a way to stamp it out in one piece which was a big accomplishment on the ZDX
I think this car has too many different designs mashed together.. not "clean" enough for my taste..and the rims look awfully small on the car.

Are you kidding me??? The Sonata is a complete disaster. It looks to me like Hyundai smashed together a Solara and a Mercedes S class, and then threw in some character lines.
This Kia is much more cohesive. Sonata looks like it was designed by committee members who never talked to each other.
That makes me wonder... what exactly IS Kia's direction? They used to be known as the bargain-basement division of the bargain basement brand (Hyundai). Now they seem to be striving to be on the same level as Hyundai?

Supposedly Kia is Hyundai but a touch youthful/sportier (never mind the Genesis coupe)...
